What is ‘Artisan
Bread’?
Artisan breads are hand made, in small batches, using natural
ingredients and traditional methods. We use no preservatives,
only unbleached flour, and many of our breads contain whole
grains and seeds. Some of
our most popular varieties;
Asiago and Olive Ciabatta, Italian Herb Foccacia, Prima Pane
(Crusty Italian), Fruit & Nut (raisin, dried cranberry,
walnut and pecan), Dried Apple & Pepita with Malted Wheat
In addition to our artisan breads, we make sandwich breads in
White, 100% Whole Wheat, 8-Grain, and Canadian Rye, plus a selection
of buns. Tips for storage:
We recommend that you keep all bread in the paper bag we provide;
by doing so your bread will maintain its crust while staying
soft and chewy inside. If you would like us to slice your bread
for you, we will put it in a plastic bag.
None of our breads contain preservatives, so we highly recommend
that you enjoy your bread on the day it is purchased. If you
must buy your bread in advance, please store it in the freezer
in a tightly sealed plastic bag until the day it will be eaten,
letting it thaw completely while in the bag. Once thawed, ten
minutes in a 350 degree oven will make it taste as fresh as
the day it was baked.
Never, never store your bread in the refrigerator! The dry air
and coolant will cause your bread to go stale very quickly,
giving it a distinctive “fridge” flavour.
